A Study on Factors Associated with Health of the Micro Scale Business Owner at Middle Age

Abstract

|
This study aims to explore the factors to associate with health of the micro scale business owner at middle age. To do so, the 4th Korean Working Conditions Survey(2014) performed by the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute was used to apply multiple regression and analyzed the 5,245 subjects in the age of 45 to 64. As a dependent variable, subjective health was used. Personal/familial factors and work related factors were included as independent variables in the analytical model. According to the results, gender, age, monthly wage, education level, family structure, emotional status, working hour, job risk factor, industrial type, job stress, and satisfaction of working environment had statistically significant effect on subjective health of the micro scale business owner at middle age. Based on the results, academic and practical implications were discussed.
